23andme Tests

My wife and I have tested our DNA by 23andme.org in 2010
in that time they tested 580 000 Base pairs in all the chromosomes, now they are testing more with a very interesting price(99 USD per person)
The results are a wonderfull amount of informations which are usefull in both medical and genealogical purposes.
I sent our results to Dienkies who is working on Dodecade admixture project to determine for each individual the percentage of admixture by region, the resulst are quite exciting as they show that we have a height level of admixture and we have so many origins !
This analysis can show if two individuals share some common segments in their chromosomes, which is indicative of a common ancestor for which the age can be determined based on the lenghth of teh segments sahred.
It is interesting that people in L192.2+ group order a 23andme test that may be helpfull to know if we share common sgements in our chromosomes.

New SNP in J-L24 (J2a4h) haplogroup

L530,L531 and L532 are promising  Y DNA SNP

These SNP were found in one WTY sample who is L192.2
they were found negative in on J-M92 sample and positive in one L192.2+ and one L192.2-,L24+,L25+ sample
This means that these SNP are downstream of L26,L27 (J2a4*) and upstream of L192.2+(J2a4h2f)
We need to test first one sample who is L24+,L25- to know more about their places in the Y Tree of haplogroup J2
L534 were found in positive in one L192.2+(from India)  and negative in one other L192.2+ sample (from Tunisia)
This means that it is a downstream of L192.2, more tests on L192.2+ indian samples are required to know more about its scope
and TMRCA.

The L192.2 Y DNA Group

Y Chromosome DNA SNP L192.2 and L271 were first found by Thomas Krahn in 2010 in the Walk through the Y Chromosome project by Family Tree DNA

in one sample from Msaken, Tunisia belonging to J2a4h Y DNA Haplogroup.

After testing these two SNP in other samples belonging to J2a4h haplogroup it was found that L271 is a downstream of L192.2 and that L192.2 has wide spread in the world and a relatively old age (around 3000 years before present)

The SNP L192.2 was found so far in people from:
- Msaken, Tunisia: 7 samples out of 9 are L192.2+ and L271+
- Kerala India, among a group of Syrian Christians community
- Jordan, Talhouni Family
- Iran, armenian lineage
- North west of Iran
- Turkey
- Italy, Settenbrini( Settembrini,Settembrino) (the SNP is being tested and is very likely L192.2+)

The J2-Middle East  Y DNA Project

By Checking the SGMF data base, I found the following samples who are very likely L192.2+
- One sample from Saudia Arabia : see the haplotype here http://tinyurl.com/d314pq
- Two samples from Iraq http://tinyurl.com/SGMF-IRAQ01 and http://tinyurl.com/2bz56xu
- One Sample from Italy with family name= Puglia http://tinyurl.com/25gq6fd
- One sample from IRAN http://tinyurl.com/nzntqs

Here is the MAP distribution of the L192.2 found over the world

More recently, in February 2011, Thomas Krahn has found 4 new SNP in one L192.2+ sample from Kerala,India.
These SNP are L530,L531,L532 and L534.
By testing one sample from Msaken Tunisia, it was found L530+,L531,L532+ and L534- which means that L534 is a downstream of L192.2, like L271 , we will see its distribution by tetsing more samples.
The other SNP (L530,L531 and L532) are temporary placed at the same level as L192.2 and we will know more about its placement by testing more samples belonging to J2a4h(L24+,L25+), one memeber already ordered these SNP: he is L192.2- and L24+,L25+

Here is the last update of J2a4h Haplogroup SNP Tree by Thomas Krahn

By Making a Fluxus network of the samples who tested at least 37 markers and who are L192.+, or most likely, I obtained the follwoing tree:
